I am, Edwin Ambani Ameso, a Kenyan citizen from Nairobi, Kenya. I hold a Masters Degree in Medical Anthropology from the Institute of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies; University of Nairobi.

My Project is entitled: The realities of tuberculosis (TB) as an epidemic in Kenya. This is meant to examine TB as an epidemic that is embedded in the social, cultural, economic, and political fabrics of our society. The study will seek to answer the following three specific objectives: (i) to explore the current social and cultural dynamics of TB among patients and families. (ii) To establish the predisposing factors of TB, and (iii) to interrogate the structural settings and changes of TB diagnosis, treatment and management. The study will be conducted in public and private healthcare settings.
