05.02.2020 | Camilla Dimke

I hold a BA in pre- and protohistory and art history from Tübingen University, Germany (2017) and a MA in pre- and protohistory from Kiel University, Germany (2019) where I specialized in quantitative methods in Archaeology. From February 2020 on, I am going to be a member of Prof. Felix Riede's CLIOARCH project here at Aarhus University

I will be concerned with the project's work-package II for the next three years, where I am going to apply quantitative classification methods to re-evaluate the robustness of existing culture-historical taxonomies for the European Final Palaeolithic/earliest Mesolithic with a focus on transparency and replicability. Further, I am going to construct cultural units based on empirical data derived from lithic artifacts that reflect past communities of practice and explore their variation on a spatio-temporal scale.
