In autumn 2016 and spring 2017 Eve-Marie Becker - Professor of New Testament exegesis at Aarhus University -  will teach all in all four courses in New Testament, graduate and PhD-level, at Candler School of Theology. The teaching activities partly include standard courses ("Introduction into New Testament"), and are partly related to specific research projects, as: Paul's letter to the Philippians, or the ancient history of early Christian literature - research projects which Eve-Marie Becker during her time in Atlanta will further develop.

Candler School of Theology is part of Emory University which is a premier research institution consistently ranked among the top 25 national universities by U. S. World and News Report. The school is one of 13 seminaries of The United Methodist Church. The distinguished guestprofessorship will not only - beyond particular exegetical results of teaching and researching the New Testament  - lead to new academic experiences and ideas for research based teaching, but also provide crucial insights into academic life on the crossroads of religion, politics, research and intellectual discourse at a most well-known US American university.
