Historical heritage- present challenges- future prospects.

The consultation on the history of global Christianity will be held at Aarhus University. The occasion refers to the publication of three volumes on the history of global Christianity with contributions by 35 international scholars. The here volumes have been published in parallel editions in English and German,  History of Global Christianity vol. I-III (Brill), Geschichte des globalen Christentums (Kohlhammer). The books have been edited by Jens Holger Schjørring in cooperation with Norman A. Hjelm (USA) and Kevin Ward (England).

Four contributors will present the volumes, and three external colleagues from Kiel, Oslo and Copenhagen will give introductions to a critical discussion about the books.

There is no conference fee, but participants are requested to register by August 24 at:

Thursday, August 30:

            Presentations by Jens Holger Schjørring (AU) and Hartmut Lehmann (Kiel).

15,30: Presentations by Carsten Bach-Nielsen (AU) and Christian Gottlieb (KU).

16,30: Critical discussion by Viggo Mortensen (AU), Andreas Müller (Kiel) and participants from the floor.

 

Friday, August 31:

9,15:  Critical discussion, Tine Reeh (KU) and Hallgeir Elstad (Oslo) and participants from the floor.

10,30: Coffee/tea

11,00-12,00: Critical discussion (continued).

12,00-13,00: Concluding remarks by the presenters.
