DFF Explorative Network on Ecocide
CEBRAGA co-coordinator Georg Fischer is a core member of the newly approved DFF Explorative Network “The ecocide complex: An interdisciplinary and multispecies approach to understanding ecological destruction”, together with Malayna Raftopoulos (Aalborg University – Principal Investigator and main applicant) and Damien Short (University of London). This three-year DFF/FKK initiative will explore ecocide through a rich program of workshops, conferences, and seminars organised into three annual thematic cycles: 1) How emerging demands for a law of ecocide shape social and cultural understandings of climate breakdown, biodiversity loss, political resistance, and environmental activism. 2) Ecocide and multispecies justice. 3) How the concept of ecocide can be mobilised to imagine social, political, and legal remedies. Cycle 2 will bring several events, including an international conference, to Aarhus University.
