Greenland and Qallunaat Nunaat: Afmagt.dk's subproject on history, colonization and uses of the past

Niels Brimnes and Thea Bladt from the Department of History will present their ongoing book project Greenland and Qallunaat Nunaat, a subproject of the interdisciplinary research and public dissemination project Afmagt.dk supportedby Velux Fonden. The two authors have collaborated with the greenlandic historian Marianne Jensen and De Grønlandske Huse in Aarhus and Copenhagen to organise conversations about the Greenlandic-Danish colonial past and its ties to the present with greenlanders living in Denmark. These conversations took place in spring and summer 2026 and form the foundation for the book, which is set for publication in September 2027. The talk presents the collaborative efforts of the book and its envisioned structure.
