Queen Christine did hold an independent Court in the city of Odense from 1594, while her husbond, king Hans, was still alive. She resided on Næsbyhoved Castle, until she moved to a yard in the residenttown, which she bought in 1505 and expanded it to be her place of residence. As widow she continued to hold her own Court in Odense from 1513 until her death in 1521. During the whole residency, the Queen had a close economic cooperation with the city, which the local merchants and craftsmen was a huge part of. At the same time, she had a comprehensive personel at Court, which lived on the castle and the yard.

Mirja Piorr's ph.d-thesis (Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, 2020) centers around the Court of Queen Christine in Odense and the economic relations to the city of residence (1496-1521). Some of the most important results are two catalogues, which include the groups mentioned above. The paper will inform about the person history of the thesis, Mirja's practice, sources, challenges and non the least the two catalogues, including a further insight in selected persons.
