This talk takes point of departure in the Velux-funded project Reorienting Integration, which follows Denmark’s resumption to resettle refugees through the UNHCR resettlement program. The project explores how resettlement is experienced by the primarily Congolese families who have been resettled in Denmark since 2021 from refugee camps in Rwanda, and how municipalities meet the newly arrived families. As part of the project, a group of young persons, aged 15-22, together with an illustrator participated in the creation of a collection of graphic stories about the resettlement experiences of two fictive characters. We will present insights from the process of developing the stories as well as glimpses into the final format.

All are welcome to join the seminar in person or via zoom https://aarhusuniversity.zoom.us/j/68805171713
