  • Mikkel G. Mogensen

Steering group

  • Raffaele Rodogno is the PI of the project and is employed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy and History of Ideas at Aarhus University. Rodogno supervises the project, assists with experimental design and data analysis, contributes to the production of scientific articles and to the dissemination of results. Raffaele is an expert in the philosophy and psychology of well-being, including the question of well-being and the good life for people on the autism spectrum.
  • Katrine Krause-Jensen, is the project manager and is employed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy and History of Ideas at Aarhus University. Krause-Jensen is responsible for: (i) project management/coordination, including the day-to-day running of the project; (ii) scientific production, including experiment design, data collection and analysis, article writing, and dissemination. Krause-Jensen has a background in philosophy and political science. She has co-authored an article on well-being and autism with Rodogno and has experience with qualitative data collection.
  • Line Gebauer Josefsen is employed as a clinical psychologist at Langagerskolen. Gebauer is also an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health at Aarhus University, and thus represents the bridge between the theory and the praxis. Gebauer and Rodogno have conducted autism related research on previous occasions and have been co-directors of the autism@aarhus network, whose function since 2010 was to bridge the world of autism research with that of praxis. Gebauer provides key theoretical and practical insights about our target group, helps with experimental design and data analysis, and co-ordinates with Krause-Jensen in connection with data collection at Langagerskolen. Gebauer will be responsible for the implementation of the new praxis at the school.

Collaborating partners

AC: Autism Community.

The representatives of this community are for example members of Landsforeningen for Autisme and Autisme- og Aspergerforeningen. It is also NAUK (network for women with autism), ABA Foreningen, and Felix Munch (see below). Close dialogue with members of the autism community is necessary to select the right role models. In particular, we need qualitative studies with AS adults to learn about: (i) the sources of hopelessness and low self-esteem back in their teen-age years; (ii) what they would now wish they had known then; and (iii) what persons inspired them and gave them hope, and how.

CSB: Center for Specielpædagogiske Børnetilbud

Main collaborators at CSB are:

  • Mikael Carlsen (director); Lenette Andsbjerg Johansen (special needs consultant); Michael Harboe Kvistgaard (special needs consultant; VISO specialist). CSB is a knowledge and resource centre that actively develops and divulge practical and theoretical knowledge about how to work with children with a handicap and their families.

Autism specialist

  • Felix Munch is an autism consultant. Munch has large first- and second-hand experience dealing with and guiding youth with autism on a number of different issues. At some level, we owe the idea behind this project to him.
