The Link Lives Expo will provide an opportunity for historians as well as computational humanists to explore the future of historical research through one of the most ambitious digital history projects in Denmark. Link Lives (LL) project is transforming the study of Danish society by linking individual life courses across historical records, such as censuses, parish registers, and cadastral data back to 1787. These newly developed datasets, combined with an advanced linking software toolkit, offers historians and researchers unprecedented access to the lives of past generations.

In the course of the two days we will learn about the data, its organization, highlights and shortcomings, so that we can become informed users of it. While the opening talk is open and suitable to anyone with an interest in Danish demography, family and long-term development, the follow-up events will be of most interest to colleagues with novice and intermediate coding skills.
