Belief is a much-discussed term both within the study of religion, medieval studies, and folklore studies to name a few. This seminar will bring together scholars of these disciplines to present and discuss thought on belief in both the Viking Age, in Medieval saga literature, and in a modern world where fake news is a growing phenomenon. They will tackle questions such as what is belief, is it a useful term to use at all, how is it presented in some medieval saga text, ect.
