The 43rd Interdisciplinary Viking Symposium wishes to shed light on the 11th century in Scandinavia – a century
traditionally split in two nearly equal halves by the so-called “end of the Viking Age” – and address some of its main
transformations and events going across the standard period threshold. The contributions will address various aspects
of religious, cultural, social, political, and economic change in this period, conceived as key in modern scholarship,
from an interdisciplinary perspective.
