There are some hotels in the city center. The nearest to the university are Cumulus, Vaakuna, Aada and GreenStar, little more far away near the railway station is Kimmel
The prices are mostly very near each other. From the center there is about 10-15 minutes walk to the University.
The most inexpensive is Hotel GreenStar. Aada is cheaper than Cumulus and Vaakuna. In the GreenStar one room costs about 55-60 Euros pro night. One room may be share with one or two other guests.
About 1,5 km from the center is also the Scout’s Youth Hostel.
All these may be reserved in the internet. Seek for example Hotels Joensuu. At the moment there are free rooms in all hotels, but it is best to make the reservations pretty soon.
