Mission

After more than a decade of so-called ‘poly-crises’, we at CPG believe that a new critical, humanist approach is necessary to make sense of our contemporary experience. By engaging with our times through transdisciplinary viewpoints, we develop theory and research perspectives for tomorrow. We are committed to combine constructive scholarship with innovative avenues of academic and public dialogue. On our webpage you can read more about our three major research themes: Planetary Humanities, Global Governance Beyond Neoliberalism, and Owning the Crisis. Furthermore, you can explore our podcast series Planetary Choices, in which we examine prevalent questions and concepts with scholars, policymakers and activists, or find our series Viewpoints and affiliated researchers’ latest publications.

At CPG our goals are to...

  • think about the new shape and regime of global governance;
  • build a community of scholars, activists and policymakers;
  • make excellent scholarship easily accessible;
  • publish research relevant for society at large
