Working with software
Lisanne Wilken
21st century academics work with software! Or - at least they have plenty of opportunities to include digital notebooks, online information management systems, computer assisted data analysis software, mind maps, word clouds, social network analysis software and literature management suites. But how to select the right software? How to select software that fits the individual researcher's analytical needs and integrates with other software they use?
Taking CAQDAS (computer assisted qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo, Maxqda and Atlas.ti) as the central tool for research design, data management, analysis and reflection, this workshop discusses how to choose the appropriate CAQDAS for the work you do, and how to integrate other tools in order to create a digital workflow. The workshop is not an introduction to any particular software, but a practical guide on what to look for when selecting software.
Bring a computer.
