"The Nature of Money"

Info about event

Time

Thursday 11 June 2015,  at 11:15 - 12:45

Abstract:

It is frequently observed that a vast array of things, including stones, paper, cigarettes and sea-shells, have historically been used as money. I will argue, however, that this is not the case. The stones, paper, cigarettes and sea-shells that we think of as being money are mere records of money. Only one kind of thing has ever been (and will ever be) used as money.

All are welcome!
