Gillian Glass - New postdoc at the Department of Theology
Gillian Glass will be affiliated the ANINAN project, where her research focuses on reception of biblical narratives in Hellenistic and early Imperial parabiblical sources.
Gillian Glass (PhD, University of British Columbia; MA, Université Laval and Université de Strasbourg) studies divine encounter in narrative prose in Second Temple Era Jewish and Greek literature. Her dissertation, titled “A Daughter of Hebrews and Hellenes. Epiphany in Aseneth and Contemporary Ancient Greek Literature,” compares the use of divine encounter in Joseph and Aseneth, a Hellenistic Jewish novel, with contemporaneous Jewish, early Christian, and Greek literature. Gillian is excited to be moving to Aarhus to work for ANINAN, where her research focuses on reception of biblical narratives in Hellenistic and early Imperial parabiblical sources. When she's not working, Gillian enjoys being in nature, and singing in choir.
