Nadiia Pavlyk - New postdoc at the Department of Global Studies

Nadiia Pavlyk started on 1 april and will be working on the project: "PUBLISH: Children's Books in the Russia-Ukraine War" .

Nadiia Pavlyk will start as a researcher on the project "PUBLISH: Children's Books in the Russia-Ukraine War" on 1 April 2024, and her research aims to investigate the contemporary publishing of Ukrainian wartime children's books that voice children's experiences of war and migration.

Since 2002, I have been teaching at the Department of Social Technologies at Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University (Ukraine) with future social workers in the areas of social inclusion, human rights and non-formal education for excluded groups.

Since 2021 I have been working as a researcher for the Council of Europe project "Youth for Democracy in Ukraine", analysing youth work in Ukraine according to the approaches and standards of the Council of Europe. Now I am a member of the Pool of European Youth Researchers (PEYR), where I collaborate on many research projects across Europe, working together towards evidence-based policy and practice in the youth field in Europe.

As a researcher AUFF-Ukraine at the Aarhus Institute for Advanced Study, I collaborated with TrygFonden Centre for Child Research and its project READ on shared reading and its impact on social inclusion of Ukrainian families with children in Denmark (2022-2023).

I am a researcher in the project "PUBLISH: Children's Books in the Russia-Ukraine War", Department of Global Studies (Denmark) in the interdisciplinary team of humanities and social sciences researchers. PUBLISH documents the publication of such books as a creation process in the midst of destruction, and develops a conceptual framework for interpreting possibilities and strategies of independent publishers.
