The IMAGENU project – Imagining Gender Futures in Uganda – involves researchers from Gulu University, Aarhus University and University of Copenhagen. We are carrying out a variety of mainly qualitative studies in Northern and Eastern Uganda and hope to provide new perspectives on gender and futures by placing marriage in Uganda and its decline at the centre, showing how this most fundamental gender relation implicates the filiation of children, livelihoods, education, health and people’s imaginations, expectations and hopes for the future.
With this blog we hope to contribute to create debate in the wider public and inspire to development of relevant social gender policies.
