We are working on chapters for a book about the decline of marriage and the imagination of gendered futures in Uganda, and we came together to present and discuss our contributions to the book.

Koreen Reece from University of Bayreuth joined us as discussant for the presentations of draft book chapters, and gave this year's IMAGENU lecture "The wife is the mother of the husband: Marriage, generations and change in Botswana’s time of AIDS".

We were also joined by Yaliwe Clarke and Sara Matchett from University of Cape Town who presented their work from the Global Grace project (https://www.globalgrace.net/). They also facilitated a co-creative process of the research group working with embodied forms of knowledge and connecting embodied experiences to scholarly insights. These experiments extended our discissions in the presentations about partnerships, kinship and belonging - and how these may be imagined in the future.
