Lotte Meinert, Julaina Obika and Mary Ejang from IMAGENU were all invited to participate in the (More) Women in Research seminar organized by the Danida Fellowship Centre and MS TCDC in Arusha, Tanzania from 5-8 March, 2024. This international event brought together women researchers, providing a platform for networking, academic guidance, and advocacy tools. 

The “(More) Women in Research Seminar 2024” is a component of Danida Fellowship Centre’s Science Engagement  activities, focusing on supporting researchers to transform their knowledge into action and provide inclusive solutions in collaboration with others.

Throughout the week, a cohort of 50 distinguished women academics from 12 African countries came together. On the final day, they collaboratively crafted a series of recommendations that are specifically designed to shatter the glass ceiling that African women encounter in research. They address the unique challenges faced within a predominantly male-dominated context.
