Merita will be working on the project 'Milestone' as a postdoc specialised in radiocarbon dating and Bayesian chronological modelling, building a precise and accurate chronological framework of Lindholm Høje. She graduated with her PhD in 2024 at Groningen University in the Netherlands, and she holds master's degrees in Archaeology and archaeological material sciences (a separate degree). Her work is greatly interdisciplinary, from a 'traditional archaeologist' to a cheekily self-proclaimed 'archaeological chemist'; and she loves combining the alpha and beta sciences. She spent the last 2 years working as a chemical analyst in a radiocarbon and environmental lab in Groningen, the Netherlands, but her passion for research prevailed, so she is joining Moesgaard as a new member, starting June 1st.
