Rosanne Liebermann - New Assistant Professor at the Department of Theology

Rosanne Liebermann will be joining the School of Culture and Society in August 2021 as Assistant Professor of the Old Testament.

Rosanne Liebermann has studied Theology at the University of Oxford and holds a PhD in Near Eastern Studies from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Prior to coming to Aarhus, she has been the Friedman Postdoctoral Fellow in Jewish Studies at Washington University in St. Louis.
In her research, Rosanne employs comparative and social scientific approaches to the Hebrew Bible, with a focus on prophetic literature. She has written about clothing and body modification, gender and religious authority, and social justice in the Hebrew Bible. Rosanne’s current project, Exile, Incorporated: The Body in the Book of Ezekiel, examines Ezekiel’s rhetorical use of the body to create an exile-centered Judean identity.
